Elijah Blue Allman, the 48-year-old son of singer Cher, has been discharged from the hospital after being admitted last week for a drug overdose. He is allowed to recover further at home, TMZ reports based on sources.
Allman was admitted to a hospital in California. Police sources told TMZ that drugs were found in his home.
The son of 79-year-old Cher and musician Gregg Allman has struggled with addiction problems in the past. In 2023, the singer tried to become his trustee because, according to her, he was unable to manage his assets due to “drug-related problems.” Allman acknowledged having a history of addiction at the time, but said he was doing better.
The case was discontinued after mother and son reached a mutual agreement. What they exactly agreed upon has never been made public.
Cher and Gregg Allman married in 1975 and separated in 1979.
