Joost Vullings joins the presenting team of Buitenhof. He succeeds Pieter Jan Hagens at the current affairs program of AVROTROS. Hagens retired in April.
The 54-year-old Vullings calls it fantastic that he may present Buitenhof. According to him, the program is “an institution on Dutch television”.
“I am also lucky enough to start on the eve of an election campaign. I can’t wait to work with the editors on high-profile, in-depth and insightful interviews,” he says.
Vullings has been a political commentator for AVROTROS in EenVandaag for several years. He is also co-initiator and presenter of the political podcast De Stemming, together with Xander van der Wulp. Previously he worked at NOS.
The new season of Buitenhof, a program of VPRO, BNNVARA and AVROTROS, can be seen from September 7. Besides Vullings, Maaike Schoon (VPRO) and Twan Huys (BNNVARA) are the presenters.
