The Formula 1 has extended the contract with the Canadian Grand Prix by four years. The race is now confirmed on the Formula 1 calendar until 2035.

“A contract extension with the Canadian Grand Prix fits in a year in which Formula 1 celebrates its 75th anniversary,” says Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali on Tuesday in a press release.

“This Grand Prix has a great history in our sport. The circuit is also named after a legend, namely Gilles Villeneuve. In addition, Montreal is a great, vibrant city with passionate Formula 1 fans.”

Last weekend, the 54th edition of the Canadian GP took place. At the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, George Russell was the fastest, followed by Max Verstappen (second) and Kimi Antonelli (third).

Verstappen triumphed from 2022 to 2024 in Montreal. Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher have both won the Canadian GP seven times and are therefore shared record holders.
