Elon Musk says he regrets some posts on X about Donald Trump. The Tesla boss openly argued with the American president after being allies for months.
Musk writes on X that some posts “went too far,” but does not say which posts he is referring to. On Saturday, he removed the post about Trump and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In it, Musk wrote that Trump’s name appeared in the file about Epstein.
The wealthy Musk was a financier during Trump’s campaign and, after his election victory, was given a prominent role as an advisor to shrink the American government. About a month ago, he stepped back and the friendship seemed to have cooled.
Musk’s series of messages followed a heated argument between Musk and Trump last week. It began after Musk called the president’s economic plan disgusting. According to the Tesla boss, the savings of the American Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) would be undone.
The argument escalated with mutual accusations. Musk stated that Trump would never have won the presidential election without his financial support.
Trump said in turn that terminating contracts with Musk’s companies, such as SpaceX, “would be the easy saving for the US.” Trump also claimed that Musk did not leave DOGE as an advisor of his own accord and that Musk is crazy.
