Coach Brian Priske returns to Sparta Prague four months after Feyenoord-Exit

Coach Brian Priske will once again be working at Sparta Prague. The Danish coach was dismissed from Feyenoord four months ago and is now returning to his old stomping grounds.

The 48-year-old Priske was already active as coach of Sparta Prague between 2022 and 2024. The Dane became national champion with the Czech club in 2023 and even won the double the following year. Before that, Priske worked at Midtjylland and Royal Antwerp.

Priske’s good performances caught the eye at Feyenoord, which decided to bring him to De Kuip. That turned out to be a short employment. In the Champions League, the Rotterdam team performed excellently under Priske at times, but things did not go so well in the league.

In February, Priske was fired. Robin van Persie was appointed as his successor, after Pascal Bosschaart briefly served as interim coach.

Sparta Prague is happy that Priske is returning. “I warmly welcome Brian back,” says board member Frantisek Cupr on the club’s website. “I am convinced that he will build on the successful work of the past and put the players back on the winning track.”

Sparta Prague finished last season in fourth place in the Czech league. As a result, the club will compete in the preliminary rounds of the Conference League this summer.
