NS ceases again on Tuesday, no trains to The Hague and Rotterdam, among others

Tuesday, June 10, there will be no trains running in the southwest of the Netherlands due to a regional NS strike. The Hague, Rotterdam, and Leiden will be affected. That’s according to the NS.

Large parts of South Holland, Zeeland, and part of West Brabant will be affected by the strike. The NS advises consulting the NS app shortly before departure.

International trains will run. However, many cancellations are expected in the EuroCity Direct and EuroCity timetables.

Unions FNV and VVMC have announced more regional strikes. On Thursday, June 12, there will be a strike in the northwest and east of the Netherlands. On Monday, June 16, NS employees will stop working in North and South Netherlands. On June 17, there may be a nationwide strike.

The NS and the unions have not yet agreed on a new collective labor agreement after 4.5 months of negotiations. The railway company is sticking to a wage offer of 2.55 percent. But the employees think that is too little and want to be compensated for the high inflation.

No agreement has been reached on early retirement, which allows people to stop working earlier. “We call on the unions to come to the table and continue negotiations. We still want to reach an agreement,” said an NS spokesperson.
