The King thinks the Czech Republic is a “too important partner” to cancel the state visit. A state visit is “the highest” that the Netherlands has in a diplomatic sense, Willem-Alexander told the press at the airport in Prague on Tuesday evening.
The royal couple arrived in the Czech capital around 9 p.m. for a two -day state visit. Willem-Alexander is already returning on Wednesday because of the fall of the cabinet. Queen Máxima will only complete the visit on Thursday.
Outgoing Minister Caspar Veldkamp of Foreign Affairs (NSC) arrived together with the royal couple in Prague. Starting Minister Dirk Beljaarts of Economic Affairs (PVV) is no longer part of the delegation.
