Haribo also calls back sweets from Belgium and Luxembourg after finding cannabis

Candy manufacturer Haribo also calls on customers in Belgium and Luxembourg to not eat and send cannabis in the Netherlands in the Netherlands last week.

Several people became unwell last week after they ate the Haribo candy. The case came to light when a family from Twente called in the police after a woman and some children from the family had fallen ill. The police found out with a quick test that it was cannabis and signaled the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).

It concerns kilo bags Haribo Happy Cola F! ZZ that can be kept until January 2026. Now it appears that the cola bottles from the same party have also been sold in Belgium and Luxembourg, so that those bags are also recalled. Haribo emphasizes the incident to take “extremely seriously”.

It is still unknown how the soft drugs ended up in the sweets. The East Netherlands police are investigating. The NWVA has also done research, especially into the cannabis traces itself.
