Tijjani Reijnders gets new trainer at AC Milan through departure Sérgio Conceição

Tijjani Reijnders will have a new coach at AC Milan next season. The ‘Rossoneri’ parted ways with Sérgio Conceição on Thursday.

The fifty-year-old Conceição had been the coach of AC Milan since last summer. The Portuguese coach led his team to the Italian Super Cup, but did not win any further prizes.

In the Champions League, AC Milan was eliminated in the intermediate round by Feyenoord. Two weeks ago, Conceição’s team missed out on a prize due to a 1-0 defeat against Bologna in the Coppa Italia final.

AC Milan did not progress beyond eighth place in Serie A. As a result, the Milanese team will not play European football next season.

It is not yet known who the new coach of AC Milan will be. Massimiliano Allegri seems to be the main candidate to succeed Conceição. Allegri already managed Milan from 2010 to 2014 and has been without a club since his dismissal from Juventus last May.

Reijnders himself may soon no longer be playing for AC Milan. The Orange international is attracting interest from Manchester City, who would like to sign him before the start of the Club World Cup on June 14.
