The American actor and stuntman Ed Gale has passed away at the age of 61. He is best known for portraying the murderous doll Chucky in three Child’s Play films.
According to entertainment site TMZ, Gale died on Tuesday in a hospice in Los Angeles. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Gale had dwarfism and made his film debut in 1986 in Howard the Duck. In it, he was in the suit of the main character, but did not provide the voice for it.
He did that again in 1988 for Child’s Play, in which he played the iconic doll Chucky. He later also worked on Child’s Play 2 (1990) and Bride of Chucky (1998). In total, Gale starred in more than 130 films and series.
In 2023, Gale made the news when he was accused of seducing minors. The actor was never charged or arrested.
