Roxy Dekker lunched with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima. The singer was invited to the exceptional achievers’ lunch because of her success in the music industry.
Dekker won the Popprijs last year and an Edison in the Pop category this year. That earned her the invitation to the lunch at Noordeinde Palace. FunX DJ Fernando Halman, who won the Marconi Oeuvre Award last December, was also present. Court reporter Saskia Belleman was a guest for winning the Machiavelli Prize.
A number of athletes were also present. World champion skater Jenning de Boo, skeleton racer Kimberley Bos, cyclist Lorena Wiebes and shot putter Jessica Schilder were on the guest list. In total, 28 invitees were present.
The exceptional achievers’ lunch takes place a few times a year. The royal couple then invites Dutch people who have distinguished themselves through a special achievement in sectors such as sports, culture, journalism and healthcare.
