Raoul de Graaf from the popular YouTube formation De Bankzitters has proposed to his girlfriend Lieke. “She said yes!”, he writes with a series of photos on Instagram.
De Graaf proposed to his girlfriend in the middle of a highway. In the description under the photo series, he explains why. “We met during a night out in Eindhoven. I promised to bring Lieke home the next day, which was only a two-hour detour for me.”
“She declared me crazy but accepted the offer. Just before we arrived at her house, I slammed on the brakes, parked the car on the side of the road, and asked if I could kiss Lieke,” writes De Graaf. “I was (rightfully) laughed at, but the answer was yes.”
The Bankzitter says that for the past 7.5 years, he has braked every time at that spot along the road and asked his girlfriend for a kiss. “Until yesterday, when another question followed. The answer to that was also yes.”
De Bankzitters started making videos for YouTube in 2017. The group consists of five members. They were initially popular for their game videos, but nowadays they also perform at home and abroad. Next year, the formation will perform five shows in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
