Piastri (161 points) and Norris (158 points) are now close together in the World Championship standings. Verstappen is third after eight races with 136 points. Number four George Russell follows at a suitable distance with 99 points.
Next Sunday a race awaits in Barcelona. Verstappen took his first Formula 1 victory on this circuit nine years ago. The four-time world champion also triumphed in Catalonia in the past three years.
After the Spanish Grand Prix on June 1, there will be a weekend without a race. Formula 1 will also be in Canada (June 15) and Austria (June 29) next month.
