Marcel van de Ven and Willem Asman have won the Gouden Strop (Golden Noose) with their novel The price (The Price). This prize for the best suspense novel was awarded to a duo for the first time. The two writers share a check for 10,000 euros.
The jury, consisting of thriller reviewers and booksellers, among others, calls the winning book “nail-bitingly exciting.” According to the jury members, The price is also “extremely topical.” The book is about an agent who goes undercover at a company suspected of drug trafficking.
